Terms of Service
Understand your rights and responsibilities.
Welcome to Secton Platform (platform.secton.org), operated by Secton (“we”, “our”, or “us”). These Terms of Service explain the relationship between you, your organization, and our services — including our API, web dashboard, and integrations.
Your Account and Organization
When you sign up, an organization is automatically created for you. You can create additional organizations, or be invited to join others. Each organization is a separate entity and may have its own billing, users, and settings.
Access to the platform requires authentication via supported third-party providers (e.g., Google, GitHub). By authenticating, you confirm the information shared is accurate and you’re authorized to act on behalf of your organization where applicable.
Using Secton Platform
You agree to use the platform, including our APIs, in a lawful and responsible way. That means:
- No abuse, harassment, or violation of others' rights
- No reverse engineering or bypassing platform protections
- No unauthorized scraping or automated misuse
- No using the API to develop harmful, unlawful, or discriminatory tools
We may suspend or terminate access (at the user or organization level) if these terms are violated.
API Access
The Secton API is part of your organization's account. API usage is metered based on a credit system. You must keep your API keys secure and rotate them if compromised. You are responsible for all activity under your keys.
We reserve the right to throttle, block, or revoke API access for abuse, misuse, or violation of our usage guidelines.
Billing
The platform uses a credit-based billing system. All transactions are securely procesed by Stripe. Prices are shown clearly at checkout and may change with or without notice.
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store full payment details ourselves.
If automatic top-up based on credit usage or similar feature is enabled, you may be automatically charged. It's your responsibility to monitor usage and renewal schedules via your dashboard.
Your Data and Content
The user owns the prompts, inputs, and outputs generated through use of the API. We do not store, log, or retain prompts or outputs — not even for analytics, training, or any other purpose.
This means your interactions remain private and transient. However, you are solely responsible for ensuring your use of the platform and any generated content complies with applicable laws and does not infringe upon the rights of others.
Service Availability
We aim to provide reliable uptime and performance, but the platform may experience outages, maintenance, or changes. We may modify or suspend certain features as needed.
We are not liable for disruptions, losses, or interruptions beyond our control.
Account Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts or organizations that violate these terms, use the platform maliciously, or fail to comply with billing requirements.
You may delete your organization or account at any time via settings. Note that deletion may result in loss of data, keys, and unused credits.
Please be aware that you will not receive any refund or compensation for unused credits upon account or organization deletion or termination.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. This includes implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that model outputs will be accurate, appropriate, or safe in all contexts. Use them at your own discretion.
Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our maximum liability for any claim will not exceed the amount paid to us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes to These Terms
These terms may evolve as our platform does. We'll update the “Last updated” date and notify you if significant changes are made. Continued use of the platform means you accept the updated terms.
Disputes
These terms will be interpreted according to applicable laws. Any disputes will be handled in a competent jurisdiction, unless otherwise agreed in writing between you and Secton.
